Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Lovesick (Swatches)

Hello there ! TGIF!! I hope you had a nice week :) Today, this evening rather, I will be sharing some thoughts on the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick.

Lovesick is a medium hot pink fuchsia with very obvious, but subtle purple iridescence and slight cool blue undertones. I love this color. It's my favorite shade thus far. It may even look neon sometimes.

This was the first shade I decided to try out from the bunch that I purchased and the moment I applied this onto my lips was the moment I knew I was going to like this new line of lip products. I took a risk with this one because I decided to try it out on a trip to Sea World. And man, was I impressed ! 

The lip swatch above is half blurry and half clear. I did not intend for the picture to result in that way but it looks kind of cool don't ya think? ;) I think it makes the blue/purple iridescence really show up. Some may call this shimmer but I would not categorize it as so. Maybe I'm just being fancy..lol. And if you look carefully, it's there ! However, in person, it isn't really too noticeable. Unless, you look at it super closely. And if someone creeped up on me just to search for the purple iridescence, I would hit that person >.<

 For the comparison, I wanted to compare this shade to other shades I owned that had very obvious purple iridescence and this is what I came up with. Arresting is obviously darker and the iridescence in this shade is far more obvious. Maybe if I sheer it out more, it may look similar. Lollipop comes closest.  I had to swipe it a couple of times though, therefore it looks a tad darker. But one or two swipes less, it would have been almost identical. The main difference between Lollipop and Lovesick is that Lollipop's iridescence is way more obvious. You know it's there. It's larger, but not gritty where it bugs, but it's very obvious. The iridescence Lovesick has to offer is so subtle, people may justify it only as a hot pink. I mean, if you look at the picture really quickly for the first time, you can barely see the purple in it. Do you know what I'm saying?

Man! I don't think I've used the word, 'iridescence' that much in a paragraph before!!

I am aware that my teeth look yellow but trust me, they are not yellow. This is due to the natural lighting in my bathroom !

Overall, I think I'm in love with this product, it's sickening ;P See what I did there? Anyway, if you have Revlon's Lip Butter in Lollipop, and you like that color, I would skip on this one. If you were looking for something far more long-wearing than the lip butters, I would say give this one a go. And lastly, if you are a 'hot-pink-lips-fanatic', this is a must have :D
