Continuing on to my journey with Revlon's new Balm Stains. In this post, I will be talking, or rather writing, about the shade Smitten.
Smitten is a medium hot pink, however, it does look very different on the lips and the color of this shade will vary depending on your natural lip color. I feel like it has a subtle neon feel to it. If that even makes sense.
Smitten definitely leans more fuchsia. It's like as if this shade wanted to be a fuchsia but Revlon didn't let it be one. According to my eyes, I don't see any blue tone to it, but sometimes, I feel like it does have a blue tone. Sometimes, it looks just like a true hot pink. You be the judge of that.

The arm swatch is definitely lighter than the lip swatch. I believe it's due to the fact that my lips are darker and I swatched the lip product on the lighter side of my arm. |

So in my eyes, the color closest to this balm stain is Revlon's Lip Butter in Lollipop. I would say the L'oreal's Arresting comes close but you can't get that anymore as it was discontinued :( I have no idea why I swatted Mauve and Fanfare as they are nothing close to the shade. Raspberry Pie is more of a hot fuchsia.
In my opinion, if you really like the color of smitten but you already have Lollipop and/or Arresting, you really don't need Smitten. If you have Lollipop and Arresting but you don't like their formula, give Smitten a try, and hopefully you won't be disappointed because I sure wasn't. I love all three though ;P
Overall, I would totally recommend this shade. I love it! It's great for all year- round for those who love to pull of bright and bold lip colors. It's so fun to wear and it's definitely an eye-catcher. Trust me ;)
Until Next Time,
-Justine
