Today, I will discuss the color Sweetheart from Revlon's Just Bitten Balm Stain line. I originally bought this because I had this crazy idea that it was going to be very similar to the Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart which I like so much. Even their name is similar ;)
Sweetheart is a true hot pink in my opinion. It doesn't have very intense blue tones or iridescence nor does it have massive yellow tones. It's pretty neon which I really like. However, the tint that this gives is very similar to the Balm Stain in Lovesick. Which is slightly disappointing because I bought both. I like both equally either way :D
I wore foundation with a very high spf which resulted to the seemingly white looking pale face. I am pale right now though. Haven't gotten enough sun in me.
Anyway, I feel that it all depend what kind of lighting you are under to decide what kind of hot pink this is because it some lighting it definitely looks blue-toned and in some lighting it looks yellow toned. I prefer the yellow tone but I really do feel that this color will look different in different places. On another note, these pictures make this shade seem very similar to Lovesick and I reassure that they're completely different in person.

(L-R): Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Pink Pop, VS Lipstick in Hot Kiss, Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Sweetheart, Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart, MAC Fanfare |
Pink Pop would be a nice lipgloss form of Sweetheart as it it much more sheer and definitely more subtle. Hot Kiss from Victoria's Secret was limited edition for this summer and was sold over the annual sale. That's when I snatched it up. It's definitely similar to Sweetheart but less neon and just a touch darker. You can barely tell it's darker but they're definitely not the same. And Sweet Tart which I thought was going to be the most similar was lighter and not as neon. It's more wearable and it's obviously yellow toned. As for Fanfare, it does not even come close as it leans more mauve, but on my lips, it sometimes looks too pink. That's why I swatched it. But they're definitely different.
Overall, if you're buying this for the purpose of it being a stain, I would recommend you choose between Sweetheart or Lovesick. You definitely don't need both. But if you love hot pinks like me, I would pick both up. I really like Sweetheart and definitely recommend it.
Until Next Time,

I have Sweetheart and I think it turns up much darker on me! It looks gorgeous lighter on you though. :) You're right though, I can't decide whether it's blue based or warm toned! xx
ReplyDeleteIt turns darker on me as it becomes a stain too though. Just slightly :) Thanks for reading <3
